HOOVER, Ala. (September 19, 2023) – North Alabama wrapped up the third round of the Hoover Invitational with a second-best total of 295 to place sixth out of nine teams. Jahnavi Prakhya led all Lion individuals with a 225 total, finishing in eighth place.
 
The team finished the tournament with totals of 307, 312 and 295 for a grand total of 914. The Lions placed sixth of nine teams. North Alabama's 295 third round trailed just Troy's third round 291 and Austin Peay's first round 291 as the third-best team round of the tournament. Austin Peay medaled in the tournament with an 890 total, followed by UAB and Troy who tied for second with a 902. North Alabama finished ahead of Stetson, Tennessee Tech and Queens.
 
Prakhya led the Lions with a 225 three-round total, moving her up to eighth on the final leaderboard.  Hannah Dees rounded out the top 15 after finishing day one tied for 21st. Dees finished with a 228 total and tied for 15th. Allycia Gan shot up the leaderboard on day three, tying a team tournament best with a third round of 72. Gan moved up 13 spots and finished the tournament tied for 21st (231). Kerigan Klauber tied for 24th with a 232 in her first tournament as a Lion while Cassie Tasney tied for 54th with a 247. 
 
Dees led all golfers in the tournament with most pars (41) while Jahnavi Prakhya led the team in birdies (10).
 
The Lions are back in action on Sept. 25-26 with the APSU Intercollegiate hosted by Austin Peay in Clarksville, Tenn. at the Clarksville Country Club.
