HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (March 4, 2024) – The University of North Alabama's Allycia Gan wrapped up the first round of the Huntsville.org Intercollegiate tied for second place with a two-under-par showing in Huntsville on Monday. As a team, UNA is tied for fourth entering the second round of the contest.
 
UNA turned in a first round total of 298, even with Tennessee Tech, to tie the Lions for fourth after the first round. North Alabama sits just two strokes out of second place following the 10-under-par round. Fellow ASUN opponent Lipscomb leads the tournament with an even 288. The Bisons are followed by Oakland, Troy, Tennessee Tech and UNA to round out the top five. Belmont, Samford, Jacksonville, Austin Peay, Albany, Southern Illinois, Bellarmine, Alabama State, Central Michigan, Lindenwood and Southern Indiana all sit behind North Alabama. 
 
Gan enters the Huntsville.org Invitational having placed in the top 10 of three consecutive tournaments. She wrapped up her opening round tied for second place out of 83 individuals with a two-under-par 70 total. Lipscomb's Lauren Thompson leads all golfers with a five-under-par 67. Jahnavi Prakhya, Hannah Dees and Tori Roush each closed out the first round with rounds of 76. The trio are tied for 23rd place going into the second round of action on Tuesday. Redshirt freshman Kerigan Klauber rounds out all Lion golfers tied for 72nd. 
 
Gan leads the tournament with six birdies after the first day and tied for the best finish on par fives with a three-under-par score on four opportunities. As a team, North Alabama had the third most birdies with 13. Tennessee Tech led the field with 17.
 
The Huntsville.org Intercollegiate continues with the second round on Tuesday, March 5 before concluding with the third and final round on Wednesday, March 6.
