HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (March 5, 2024) – The University of North Alabama women's golf team sits in ninth place following the weather-ridden second round of play Tuesday at RTJ Silver Lakes. Play was suspended due to standing water on the course as North Alabama golfers turned to the back nine. Allycia Gan leads all UNA individuals, tied for fourth place following a second round of 77.

North Alabama finished the second day in ninth place after a 316 round, adding to the first round 298 for a 38-over-par 614 total. The top three teams are all ASUN opponents, as Lipscomb leads followed by Austin Peay and Jacksonville. Troy, Tennessee Tech and Samford are all tied for fourth while Oakland and Belmont stand just ahead of UNA. The Lions are ahead of Albany, Bellarmine, Southern Illinois, Central Michigan, Lindenwood, Southern Indiana and Alabama State going into the final round. North Alabama is just five strokes out of fourth place after two rounds. 

Currently tied for fourth place, Gan enters the final round of the Huntsville.org Invitational having placed in the top ten of three consecutive tournaments. After play resumed following the weather delay, Gan earned par on seven of the final eight holes. Hannah Dees sits eight strokes back of Gan, tallying a second round 79, putting her in 28th place. Jahnavi Prakhya and Tori Roush matched each other with rounds of 80, tying both for 34th place. Kerigan Klauber rounds out all North Alabama Individuals with a 170 total in 68th place.

Gan, Prakhya, Roush and Klauber each notched two birdies of their own on day two. Gan leads all individuals with eight birdies. As a team, the Lions have totaled 22 birdies, the second-most in the 
tournament, trailing just first place Lipscomb with 23.

The Huntsville.org Intercollegiate concludes with the third and final round on Wednesday, March 6.
