Dees finishes Top 10 at Nashville Invitational

Lions finish eighth place of 16 teams at Hermitage GC

NASHVILLE. Tenn. (March 25, 2025) – The University of North Alabama women's golf team wrapped up play at the Nashville Invitational on Tuesday, finishing eighth place of 16 teams after three rounds at Hermitage Golf Club.

UNA, who entered the day in seventh place, were in a pairing with CSU Northridge and Atlantic Sun Conference rival Jacksonville. The Lions stayed ahead of both teams, edging JU by one stroke. The Lions finished with a team score of 52-over-par 916.

The third round was a nine-stroke improvement from the second round, as UNA totaled an 18-over score as a team. The Lions totaled nine birdies from its six golfers.

Three of the nine birdies in the final round came from senior leader Hannah Dees, as she carded a 73 for the round with an even front nine. She finished 10th for the tournament with a seven-over-par 223. She was just one over par in both the first and last rounds.

Fellow senior Jahnavi Prakhya finished 27th at 13-over, followed by true freshmen Elsa Maren Steinarsdottir and Sirichaya Chanpen in a tie for 40th at 16-over. Steinarsdottir rose four spots up the leaderboard with a five-over day in the final round.

Freshman Olivia Whittle rounded out the lineup at 25-over.

Playing as an individual, redshirt sophomore Kerigan Klauber tied with Prakhya at 13-over par and had a five-over final round for a consistent 76+76+77 card.

Iowa won the tournament at 29-over, followed by Washington State two strokes back. The rest of the top half includes Austin Peay (+36), Cal State Fullerton (+38), Butler (+41), Lipscomb (+43), Longwood (+47) and UNA (+52).

The Lions beat the likes of Jacksonville (+53), CSU Northridge (+57), Morehead State (+66), Western Michigan (+68), Houston Christian (+79), Eastern Washington (+84), Belmont (+93) and Tennessee State (+186).

CSU Fullerton's Louise Dahl won the tournament, breaking even. All other players were above par.

The Lions have one more tournament before the ASUN Championship next month — the Brickyard Intercollegiate on April 7-8 in Macon, Ga.
