JACKSONVILLE (April 9, 2024) – University of North Alabama sophomore Ada Karabacak was named the Atlantic Sun Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week by the league office Wednesday afternoon.

Karabacak has quietly had a phenomenal campaign in 2025, and it was no different after the weekend's end as the sophomore earned her second conference honor of the season. She helped the Lions go 2-0 with wins over the EKU Colonels and Queens Royals to conclude UNA's away schedule. Karabacak continues to add to her collection, securing the fourth weekly award of her career.

The sophomore went 2-0 in singles from the second flight and added a doubles win against Queens from the third flight.

Against EKU, Karabacak defeated Sasha Parkhomenko in singles by a score of 7-6 (6-4), 6-4. Two days laters, she opened the Queens dual with a victory from flight three doubles due to a forfeit by the Royals. Karabacak ended the afternoon in Charlotte with a 6-2, 6-1 triumph over Zoe Cvitanovic.

Heading into the final home dual before the postseason, the sophomore has been a key figure in the Lions' season success.

She sports a 15-2 record in singles to lead the team in victories while owning a 10-4 record in doubles to rank third. In conference play, Karabacak has a 7-1 singles record with a 4-2 doubles record.

Women's Tennis hosts Senior Day against the North Florida Ospreys in its next outing from the UNA Tennis Courts on Sunday, April 13. The Lions will go for its first-ever ASUN regular-season championship and first conference title since 1987, with first serve from the UNA Tennis Courts set for 11 a.m.
